Some other ways to use this hemp milk:
- Cakes
- Cookies
- Muffins
- In Cereal
- Just drink it straight out of the jar :)
I used a combination of Organic Coconut Oil (choose a cold-pressed unrefined version, preferably extra virgin) and Raw Unfiltered Honey (or Agave if you are opposed to honey).
I prefer to store my homemade hemp milk in a glass jar. I like to use Mason Jars with a white plastic lid so it feels like I live back in the days when they used to deliver milk fresh to your doorstep :)
Use Organic Raw Hemp Seeds for this milk. These have the highest protein and the most nutrients vs Toasted Hemp Seeds. Store them in the fridge so they don't get rancid.
and here's the recipe!
Fresh Homemade Hemp Milk
Makes about 4 cups
1/2 cup Raw Hemp Seeds
1 tbsp Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
1 tbsp Raw Unfiltered Honey or Agave Nectar
Dash Cinnamon
4 cups Filtered Water
In a high powered blender, combine 1 cup water with the hemp seeds. Blend on high for about 30 seconds, or until well blended and creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Transfer to a mason jar and store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Note: This milk will seperate after sitting for a while. That's ok! It means there are no preservatives and that it's a natural food. Just shake it up before using.
Enjoy!
Here's a new current photo of our little baby Violette! I started this blog exactly 1 year ago, and my has she grown! In fact, she's not even a baby anymore, she's almost a BIG GIRL! Oh my! Here she is enjoying some carob chips from her violet-colored bowl, all snuggled while watching her favorite TV program: Sesame Street.

It never occured to me to use hemp seeds to make a non-dairy milk. I have some but have been putting them primarily into the vegan crackers I make. Where I live I can only find seeds with the hulls intact so I think it wouldn't be white if I tried to make this. I suppose that shouldn't matter. In fact, they might be even more healthful. I'm going to try it so thanks for the suggestion!
